New Around Here
I have been experience sporadic lockups on the RT-AC87U, I am forced to power off the device in order to recover since it wont respond to ping or ssh. When i do power off and look at the logs i dont see anything useful before the time when it locks up.

Is there anything i can do to debug /fix this issue ? I was using 378.56_2 until yesterday after which I upgraded to 380.57 and i again experienced the lockup today.

Thanks for any help.

Unfortunately this has been a common problem with the AC87u. There have been plenty of threads on here about it including this one,

I don't think anyone knows the actual reason why it happens, myself and another member discovered that our kids playing a game called ROBLOX on the network was causing our lockups, and since removing it has solved the problem. But others have been reporting it when using such things as VPN.

Yeah, I get a lockup everytime I use a VPN and some other random times. I guess it's time for an upgrade. Any recommendations?

Mine locked up about once a day when I had a USB 3 thumb drive plugged in--but it was not during the thumb drive scan.
