New to the whole NAS thing. Been doing my research to try and make the right choice. The charts and reviews here are very helpful.
I'm looking for standard features in a NAS, storage, media server, redundancy.
I've roughly settled on a multi disk configuration, probably running RAID 1. Would like to have at least 1TB of usable space.
After searching I thought I had settled on the Thecus N3200 Pro or the N0503. My concern are the occasional posts I see referencing support issues with Thecus. I know that everybody has their favorites and biases.
Are there real issues with Thecus that would mean that I should not consider the?
My other choices along the way have been the ReadyNAS Duo (thought I would opt for a newer technology), the HP 1TB MediaSmart Server (the lack of RAID threw me off and I have fears of wading through thousands of duplicate files created by the auto gathering feature).
I'm hoping to top out at not much more than 500 for the fully loaded machine.
Thanks for the input.
