Recommend Asus Merlin for RT-68U June 2014

Hey guys,

Have an RT-68U purchased in June 2014

Asus Firmware only updates to Version3.0.0.4.378.4585 released on 2015/03/12

Can't go any higher than that without experiencing GUI issues

Have noticed the internet is slow to load pages

Which Merlin Firmware can I use on this device

Really need some advice on this one

Here the short-cut: Always us the LATEST RELEASE from Merlin!

Having WAN drops via wifi on the Merlin 378.56 Beta 2 and 378.55 believe it or not

Have switch to DD-WRT http://www.dd-wrt.com/ which is the best so far

GUI is not as cool but the firmware is stable

Might stick with DD-WRT

A lot of issues related to the webui are caused by security software that don't like something related to the router's httpd. This is most commonly seen with Eset's security suite, but others might be affected as well.

RT-AC68 (378.55). Uptime 3 months ,Gui is perfect(french,thanx to merlin to fix it everytime) , no disconnects and no Wifi drops and internet pages loading fast.
Can we know what is your Gui issues? probly your GUI at not in english.Im experiencing issues with GUI in french at each new releases for exemple(VPN pages) and i know there is other languages that have issues with GUI.

I think I have bought a lemon because any Merlin Firmware has Wifi WAN drop issues

Changed the CAT6 cable from the modem to the router today to see if that makes a difference

Hi RMerlin,

Running a DDNS but no security software.

It really is the strangest thing. Could even be the TP Link W8960N Version 5 causing the WAN Drops.

The LAN internet is fine though
