I need some help choosing a new router.
I have a pretty complicated network. From a LAN to WAN perspective, I'm probably not a terribly heavy user -- not a whole lot of gaming or video streaming. First and foremost, I'm interested in a router that will handle wired routing very well. I really don't even care if it has wireless. I'd like at least 4 gig ports. I also need good QOS capabilities.
From an ease of transition perspective, I've been looking at a D-Link HD 2000 (DIR-827). I've also thought about the ASUS RT-N56U and the new WD router. I don’t know enough about SOHO or more commercial options to even know where to begin. I’m not opposed to flashing to Tomato USB if it isn’t too complicated and offers a real improvement over, for example, the D-Link’s built-in QOS.
Any thoughts or advice would be welcome. Thanks.
UPDATE: Router found based on recommendations.
