I'm looking for a recommendation on a tool running on Asuswrt-Rmerlin that can ...
  1. Scan log files and send an e-mail based on criteria. For example, errors / warnings, port scans, etc.

  2. Check the network connections specified in the Dual Wan setup and send an e-mail when one of them isn't working.
I thought about using a cron job running grep and sendmail.

How could you run a command to check a specific WAN connection ? The WAN Ethernet and USB ports are configured in Dual WAN as load balanced.

Is there an NVRAM value that gets updated when a connection is up or down ?

Is there specific error text in the syslog.log to check for ?
