Hi,
Just purchased a second AC68 to use as a repeater for my main one. The unit had a small antenna defect so I planned on getting it replaced when the AC87 came out.
So I got the 87U , set it up as my main router and then set up my AC68 as a repeater. This seemed to work for a few hours but then (I believe soon after a firmware update) they stopped connecting. After a resetting both I got them to connect but I was literally on dial up speeds, nothing I did helped.
When I had the 68U's linked they worked flawlessly together but not so with the 87. So here I am, I have a few days to decide on which to return. If this is just a firmware bug, I think I'll wait out the 87 until it's fixed.
Also, I plan on flashing Merlin's tomorrow morning to see if that fixes the issue.
I guess my question is this, would repeating using two of the same routers (68U > 68U) be more reliable then using two dissimilar routers or is this likely just a firmware issue that is likely to be resolved ?
