Hello!

I have a home network and want to tinker around with it and learn about network security.

I would like to install a firewall device between my external router and internal router

gateway ---> firewall ---> router ---> snort ---> switch ---> NAS, Syslog server

I am looking at pfSense, Cisco ASA 5505, or the Untangle firewall

I know the ASA will take some time to configure but that isn't a problem

Does anyone have any experience with the above and can provide recommendations?

Thanks!!

I know it is kind of late to react but are there any latest input about the solution for network security? I am interested on how to resolve issues with network security and any advise will be much of a help. Thanks in advance
