Hello all Merry Christmas . Just a quick question for the Experts my parents router a Asus RT-AC68R lost the 5 GHZ channel the other day so need a new one . They don't need anything fancy or run the lastest and greatest firmware was either going to go with a Netgear R7000 Nighthawk or a new Asus RT-AC1900P so what say you ? I have read all the router rankers but want some real world opinions thanks

wath channel are you using at the 5GHz and have you try to reset the router, wath klient wifi card are we talking about?

The 5ghz band is is linked to there phones and TVs the 2.4ghz is laptops and a desktop computer think its a gigahertz card .

The router is 3 years old so time for a upgrade anyway just want sometbing reliable for them have read Asus has some trouble with the 5 band

Get an OnHub and you can administer it remotely!
This is also possible with any of the "mesh" routers (eero, Luma, etc.). Partial administration is also possible with NETGEAR routers using genie app.

Will look into that was looking at BB since there is one local to them and figured one of those 2 be easiest to pick up . Never though of the other option
