New Around Here
Hey

I'm moving into a new apartment in 14 days and are looking for a router/AP, the size of the apartment is 60 m2

The amount of clients is around 5-8 and around 2 max 3 on wired.

I have a media server running with Plex so the router/AP need to accommodate the traffic.

MY ISP connection is either 100/100 or 200/200 (fiber)

My requirement is a fast wifi and good coverage and the ability to host a vpn on the router.

I have looked into Asus RT AC68U/Linksys 1900 acs or Ubiquity router + 1 AP.

Honestly i'm thinking it's a bit of an overkill to go with ubiquity in such a small apartment.

What would you guys recommend?

Budget around 200$

going with ubiquiti isnt overkill, infact the ubiquiti ERL is underkill for your internet if you need QoS.

Those broadcom dual core ARM A9 routers will handle your internet speeds without needing any hardware acceleration. Its more of a question of what features do you want for your network and how fast of a VPN do you want.

As for wifi performance this website has charts.

No need to mess with separate router and AP unless you like tinkering.

Your AC1900 router picks are fine. Might also consider NETGEAR R7000
