Routing table

Received and setup rt-ax86u pro and I’m going through each setting exploring the router, Can anyone explain to me (like I’m 5) why my wan ip address seems to be different on my routers routing table? I can see my vlan ip ranges and I think my isps destination ip address and maybe my modem ip. But none of them are familiar. What exactly does this show ? Is it normal to have a few different entries in the table?

More detailed information needed. The routing table won't show your router's WAN IP address, but it will show the gateway address.

The WAN ip address that shows at the main page of network on router admin page does not show in routing table but there are a few IP addresses there. What would those be , under normal circumstance ? My ISP ip? My modem IP?

Your WAN DNS server IPs also get routing table entries.

The routing table contains a list of remote hosts and networks, and the gateway addresses used to reach them. As Dave said, that will also include explicit routes for your WAN DNS servers. Directly attached hosts/networks (e.g. your router's LAN and WAN interfaces) do not have an associated gateway address.

“your WAN DNS servers” does that mean the ISPS dns servers?

Correct me if I’m wrong but my wan ip is the ip assigned by ISP?

So. In layman’s terms, some of the ip addresses I see there, see the routing table, are given by the ISP, and I may never see them anywhere else under any router settings, is that a fair statement .

We're really talking about your ISP's gateway address and its associated network address. The gateway address will be shown on the Network Map > Internet Status tab. I don't know what other addresses you're seeing.
