Hi together!
In order to improve the WiFi situation on my site I buyed and installed a new RP-AC56 Repeater.
I have problems with gear that connects via 2.4 GHz on the second floor. In order to avoid the bisection of bandwith I decided to set the repeater in Express Way mode. With this the repeater connects to my router (RT-AC56U) via 5GHz and mounts a new 2.4 GHz cell which serves as an extension of my 2.4 GHz net.
Before the installation I had these SSIDs:
SSID home at channel 11
SSID home_guest at channel 11
SSID home5 at channel 36
What SSID and channel should I set the new cell which I have got from my repeater in Express Way mode? The same as SSID example? This should help with roaming I guess. Or is this a bad idea because of interferences? Or another channel and another SSID? My Wifi neighbourhood is very crowded, and I doubt my neighbours will welcome another SSID in the 2.4 GHz band.
I am grateful for any suggestion. Thanks!
