Hello folks - I'm having the hardest time debugging a local connectivity issue between various devices within my home. I have a few scenarios where devices are discovering and connecting with each other all WITHIN the LAN and since I upgraded to my RT-AC3200 they don't seem to work. I'm curious if someone here can shed some networking wisdom, or perhaps tell me about a feature of my Asus router I don't know about.
A few examples:
- Presonus digital mixer. This thing is attached to a desktop PC and "broadcasts" it's availability on the local network so I can access it via a presonus app on iPhones & iPads. Since I have my new router, I have been unable to connect these devices together within the network.
- Minecraft local server. I have a local pocket edition server i've tried running on several PCs on my network but none of my pocket edition clients can connect to the server.
Now, I use the port forwarding feature on my router all the time but have assumed this if for traffic originating outside of the LAN.
Are there some security features, perhaps, that restrict or prevent devices within the LAN from communicating with each other?
Additionally, many of these scenarios run under different ports. Do you guys know of a good way to debug this traffic so I can understand what is going on?
Any help greatly appreciated.
