Ok, so it's conclusive that there is a lot of grey areas in what the settings actually do.

Looking at my network map, all 5GHz clients are on the 5GHz-1 network, none on the 5GHz-2 network.

If I have a client that has a TX rate of >500MBPs, what setting, and under what section would I create the rule in, to steer them from 5GHz-1 to 5GHz-2?

Hopefully someone will have worked this out for themself!

noticed that every time I save a change, when the page is accessed again it displays this....

I have to reset the page back to default in order to make changes again.

firmware 9135. Going to downgrade to previous firmware to see if the issue was present there

It's a bug in Asus's recent firmware.

Have they fixed it yet? Or have you fixed it in your build?

Thanks.

No idea if Asus fixed it in 9323, but I fixed it on my end.

Great, thank you. The fix is in your current stable release?

Yes. Make sure to click on the button at the bottom to reset that page to its default values, to get rid of any corrupted setting.

FYI, I found this to be very unstable, even in 380.57_0. My wireless devices (Android box, roku, nexus 7, Asus Flip CB, Pixel 2015 and more all would lose connection and would either take a few minutes to reconnect or not reconnect at all without turning the wifi off and back on. Seems like Asus just hasn't refined this feature and there probably is only so much RMerlin can do.
