As the title says, I have a AC3200 with merlin 378.53_0
when I go to enable the NAT Acceleration under lan -> switch control, it will reboot the router but when I go back in, it is still disabled.
I have reset my router to defaults after going from factory to merlin.

Any suggestion are appreciated

Go to Tools -> Sysinfo, and see the reason why NAT acceleration gets automatically disabled.

wow, what a quick answer. It looks like the IP traffic monitor is the culprit. That is a feature that I may use since I have children and am using the family control features. Does the hardware acceleration make a signifigate difference? I noticed that it is in the switch section, does it apply to wired clients only. we are all wireless, so if it only helps wired clients, it is a moot point anyway

Why do you need IP monitor? The web history in Adaptive QoS is not enough?

Only if your ISP gives you over 300 Mbps in the case of an RT-AC3200.

Sorry for hijacking the thread but for the AC87U would be different Merlin?

No, since it's the exact same CPU, so the performance is similar.

Thanks, that's what I thought...
And is there any advantages in disabling HA? Just wondering since the option is available...

A few ISPs have compatibility issues with it. It also prevents customizing the FORWARD chain in the firewall.
