New Around Here
Hi,
When we recently moved to a new place that has 3 floors, I decided to upgrade the router and bought the RT-AC5300, I also use an EA-AC87 instead of wiring to get some coverage on the first floor. I have quite a few devices connected, 3 Chromecast and one Altair. I strggled quite a bit as most of these devices would usually drop out of the google home app, or disappear from netflix or whatever app supporting chromecast.
Restarting the rendering device did occasionally help, but it would also lose connection to the controller device (phone etc) during playback.
After some time, rebooting the router daily would resolve most of these issues, so I did that with a reboot schedule.
I however, not a fan of not understanding the issue, after much back and forth I found that logging into the router and restarting upnp fixed the issue. After that chromecast would reappear on my phone and so on. I planned to setup a schedule task for that, and found the merlin version.
I installed 380_62_2 to allow me to run this task. However, after installing merlin, all my problems went away, so a donation should be on its way.![Smile :) :)](https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/joypixels/assets/8.0/png/unicode/64/1f642.png)
I still want to get to the bottom of the issue, to understand what in merlin fixed it. It might be as simple as a newer version of miniupnpd I assume. (Not checked which version that is included in ASUS latest firmware).
In any case, thanks!
