RT-AC5300 380.69_2 upgraded January 28th from 380.69. Since this upgrade the following restart has occurred twice. LAN is unaffected however all WiFi is temporarily lost; all devices affected.

Was on 380.69 pretty much since it was released and it too occasionally had the 2.4Ghz channel drop completely while both 5Ghz channels were uninterrupted. The GUI would show a partial WiFi icon and show that it was channel 0 on the 2.4 Ghz band.

The Chromecast packet flood issue that came up in the last month may have been the cause of the above 2.4 Ghz channel drop. I still have that on the network but I disabled the option Google recommended as a workaround. For two weeks since disabling that option WiFi was stable -- however it may still be related.

There is one other thread where the below logs are dumped mid thread and no one replied to that query.

(yes, I've obfuscated my MAC below)

@RMerlin - any luck on obtaining GPL for recently released 384 for RT-AC5300? I see from ASUS' demo router running this release that the DHD driver is 1.363.2 but with a later (higher) r(release) build number.

What's puzzling however is 1.363.2 < 1.363.45.xxxxx so are they using a newer build or an older build in 384?

any luck on obtaining GPL for recently released 384 for RT-AC5300?

The 384_20287 GPLs are not ready yet. I don't need them right now, my focus is on 384.3 which will be based on 384_10007. The next GPL merge won't be until the next release.

Thanks.

Not to hijack my own thread.. but.. can anyone else confirm that their ASUS router/firmware is/was victim to the Chromecast flood that would kill the 2.4Ghz channel? Or that this is a confirmed / known issue with existing firmware(s)?
