RT-AC66 VPN - 2 Issues

I just turned on and set up a VPN on my AC66. Using 380.63, but it also happened with 380.62. I have a couple of possible problems. First, the VPN does function, so I seem to be okay there. Here are the issues:

1. Even when the VPN (server 2) is turned on and in use, the Connection Status says "Disconnected" on the VPN Server - OpenVPN page.

2. On the same page, I tried to set up a Username and Password, but the router refused it, saying those were already in use elsewhere in the router (and indeed they are, so, okay). The problem is, there is now a row with the "bad" Username and no password in the grid. I can't edit or delete it (there is no minus sign on the row, just a hyphen). I was able to set up another Username and Password, and they work. I prefer to delete the "bad" one, but there does not seem to be a way to do it. Do I even need to worry about it? I have a similar situation in the VPN Server 1 (which is turned off).

You need to clarify what you are talking about. Your post mentions elements from both running a server and running a client. A server cannot be "connected", it can be running or stopped, for instance.

The "Disconnected" status appears on the OpenVPN Servers tab, and the page is titled, "VPN Server - OpenVPN". The "Disconnected " status appears in a table next to an ID that is actually connected- I guess that refers to the client connection. Also in that same table is the first ID I tried to set up, and it has no password, and no way to update or delete it.

Anyway, a picture is attached. I painted out the user names. The ID on the first row has a "-" in the password field. I can't do anything with that row. Is it a security concern? And you can see that it says "Disconnected on both rows. This field does not seem to update, even when the device (an iPhone) is connected to the VPN and using data.

Thanks!

That's the username lists. The first one cannot be edited because it's the built-in router admin user.

This would change state only when using user-based authentication AFAIK. The VPN Status page is the best place to look for the server state.

Okay, thanks. The page titles and field are a little confusing.
