New Around Here
Hi all,
Yesterday I upgraded my router from 374.something to 376.54. My settings were mostly there, but I noticed guest networks were gone (I had one for both 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz). So I slapped one on for 2.4GHz, figured I'd do 5GHz if I needed it.
As luck would have it, I've beenusing a temporary old laptop that only does 2.4GHz. and as soon as I enabled Guest Network, the regular, non-guest network's performance died. And the guest network's performance matched it. This is confirmed by a WiFi analyser - both networks go up and down ad the same time, and the control channel has a bell-curve of terrileness around it, no matter what channel I use, no matter if I go Legay or N-Only, etc. When I disable the guest network, no problem.
So just for fun I tried the same thing with a 5GHz guest network and yeah, same thing. If I enable a guest network on either 2.4GHz or 5GHz, that entire frequency becomes unusable.
This was definitely not the case with previous versions, but since I skipped ahead quite a bit I don't know if it's a known issue, or a recent problem, or something I'm doing wrong. Anyone have any ideas?
