RT-AC66U and no ip address

New Around Here
I am constantly running into an issue where the router loses its WAN IP address. I have it manually set. When its broken, I can log into the router and it shows me connected instead of the ip address on the landing page. When I go into the configuration settings and save them (without making changes) it works again. I also added a router in between the cable modem and I have the same problem.

Do you actually have and pay for a static WAN IP?

What version firmware specifically are you using?

It is statically assigned to another router. I had the same problem using DHCP connecting directly to the cable modem. The second router doesn't have the same problem with the cable modem. The static address is a 192 address.

I am running 376.47
