I have a RT-AC66U in repeater mode and a RT-AC87U as my main router. Both are running Merlin's 378.50 beta1 firmware. In noticed recently that any Apple computers connected via the repeater don't see SMB or AFP shares on computers connected to the main router.
A Gooooooogle search showed that this is a very common problem with repeaters of many brands, and the root of the issue is that either the repeater or the main router is squelching wireless multicast messages. Some brands fixed it with a firmware update.
I seem to recall the Wireless -> Professional page had an option to enable "forward multicast messages" before, but I don't see it any more on either router. Does anyone know of a workaround - perhaps an NVRAM value that can be tweaked? Thanks.
