I have not installed firmware 3.0.0.4.374.4561 for the RT-AC66U, but it is now available for download from Asus.

Anyone knows how to get rid of the yellow blinking exclamation mark?

What does the message specifically says when you click on it?

It was showing two different messages about the samba problem and the ftp server vulnerability. The samba message disappeared when i clicked on the link in the message but the ftp server message stays.

Can't get rid of the FTP change message here either. Cosmetic but annoying. On Alpha 7 on AC68U

Go to the FTP tab, set it to share without account, apply, then set it back to only share with account, and apply.

That did the trick, clicking that button twice. I did not have FTP enabled to begin with.

Can anyone tell me if this new firmware enables DFS und the higher channels on the 5 GHz band? I'd like to uses channels 52 and above, since my neighbour is using channels 36 - 48, too.

With firmwares 3.0.0.4.374.4422 and ...4561 for the AC68 DFS is realised, but in the release notes for these new firmwares of the AC66 this isn't mentioned.

DFS support is only on the RT-AC68U at this time.

Useless update

I tried to use every version after 4.374.979 but doesn't get the stability I had with that version. So I'm reverting back on my Repeater RT-AC66U.

I'll try to keep the 4.374.4561 on my AP RT-AC66U if this problem is only related to the repeater it will work.

Flashed to Alpha4 on my AC66u and now I am getting the blinking exclamation mark warning me about setting my samba share to "share with account" Problem with this is Windows will only let me map individual folders on my USB drive vs being allowed to map the entire drive when it was set as "share without account". NOt really concerned with other family members accessing my samba share, are there any other risks associated with leaving as "Share without account"?

Are you sure it's referring to Samba and not FTP?

If it's really Samba, then any potential issue would be merely on your LAN, and when logged through AiCloud. The router is just warning you that anyone with access to your LAN can access to the shared content, in case that was not what you really wanted.

Its definitely referencing Samba, don't have FTP enabled. When I set Samba to "Share with account" the blinking exclamation mark goes away.

Then it means Asus are warning about this as well. As long you are aware of what this implies, it's fine to leave it to share without an account.

Reliable

I installed this latest firmware version shortly after it came out.

EDIT March 1 - It turns out I installed the firmware that came out 8 days earlier (had not noticed they already had yet another update) - 3.0.0.4.374.4422.
I suspect that from a wireless and security standpoint they should perform identically.
(end of edit)

I'm glad Asus addressed a number of vulnerabilities.
