RT-AC66U toast??

No more firmware for the RT-AC66U? I can't even get the latest firmware for this model. I don't understand. It isn't that old; is this telling me I must up to a later model to stay up to date? I cant load dd-wrt firmware and I wasn't able to find any new stuff on ASUS site.

Don't know if it will be better that new - just know that there is unofficial support at the moment for some fixes - just note that the support there is spare-time/voluntary...

Design is at least 6 years old (reviewed by PC World in Sept 2012)
