RT-AC66U with 3tb Samsung D3

I'm trying to get a 3TB Samsung D3 USB drive working on my RT-AC66U. I had it formatted NTFS and it kind of worked but not well. I have read all the threads on this I can find but still a bit confused.
I have now formatted it to EXT4 but now cant get it to mount at all.
Is EXT4 OK or should I use EXT3?
Here's a section of the log from a reboot that may be relevant.

Code:
Feb 25 16:36:16 hotplug[526]: USB /dev/sda1(ext4) failed to mount at the first try!
Feb 25 16:36:16 kernel: EXT3-fs: sda1: couldn't mount because of unsupported optional features (240).
Feb 25 16:36:16 kernel: EXT2-fs: sda1: couldn't mount because of unsupported optional features (240).
Feb 25 16:36:16 kernel: ufsd: use builtin utf8
Feb 25 16:36:16 crond[353]: time disparity of 1658436 minutes detected

ext4 is not supported on the RT-AC66U. Go with ext3.

Thanks RMerlin. I thought I had read that somewhere but couldn't find it. Oddly, I have another, albeit, smaller drive on the other port formatted ext4 and it seems to work fine. It's an ide drive in a USB caddy. I'll reformat later to ext3 and see how it goes. Thanks again for all your work and support.
