A new laptop in the family has an Intel AC 9560 2x2 / 160 MHz wireless adapter.
The router is a RT-AC68U with 3.0.0.4.385.10000 firmware.
The router settings are pretty default, wireless professional was all default with 802.11ac Beamforming and Universal Beamforming Enabled.
I noticed that the 9560 adapter connected with 433.3M Tx rate and 866.7M Rx rate.
After I disabled both Beamforming settings in the router the Tx rate went up to 866.7M as I expected it to be.
I haven't experimented yet with disabling just one of them.

What is the matter or or what are other experiences with Beamforming versus Tx and Rx rate?

Universal beamforming is often mentioned to better be turned off (and same with airtime fairness) while explicit beamforming shouldn't be a problem with newer devices.

Yes right, Disable Airtime Fairness and Disable Universal Beamforming in the 5 GHz Professional section seems sufficient to bring 802.11ac fully alive :)

Here the 5 GHz rates, the first one is a 2x2 AC client, the second is a 1x1 AC client:
