RT-AC68U Guest Wifis can acess other clients!

Hi, I've configured the ASUS RT-AC68U as a Wireless AP. I've also enabled a 2.4GHz and a 5GHz Guest network.

Other than described I was suprised that I can access (ping and browser) other clients in the the wired network as well as in the private wireless network.

How can this be possible? In the manual as well as in the browser GUI it says that the guest WIFI is isolated!

Cheers,

Jacob

Thanks for that hit. I will try that when I am at home. But doesn't that isolate the whole AP? I still want the private WIFI fully accessable to and from my other network clients.

In the guest network setup.....did you set Access Intranet to disabled? (Notice it says Intranet not Internet)

That feature is disabled in AP mode, go to the guest network settings and notice that the ACCESS INTRANET toggle isn't there.

To be able to use that function, your router must be working as a ROUTER, not a dumb access point.

Set AP isolated, will disable intranet access to ALL of your wireless devices.

AP's cant do guest network. edit if you had a comp sci degree you could definitely work up a solution.

Am I right that isolation of only one interface will only work if I use fi. dd-wrt and bridge the guest network, then set iptable rules?

Same issue - guest network users are given IP from DHCP server (on router) just as other regular network users and have full access when my RT-68U is set up as Access Point... Surprised ASUS has not disabled Guest network in Access Point mode (RT-AC68U 3.0.0.4.378_4585). Probably not to many with this kind of set up, but still a breach of security.
