RT-AC68U Rear Light

I've just put the latest Merlin build on my new RT-AC68U. Everything seems to be working as I would have expected, except that the rear white light on the router only comes on for a minute or so after first switch on and then goes off. What does that mean?

It could be that the function for turning the light off within the firmware is activated. You can easily find that in Tools, Other settings. Look for Stealth Mode.

This is the only setting I have found. I have tried enabling it, which turns off all the blue lights on the front panel and then disabling it again, which turns them back on. But the rear light remains off. It only comes on when I first switch on the router and then goes out after a minute or so.

That's the one I was referring to. Leave it at "No". Make sure the button at the back isn't pressed in. That should leave all LED's including the one on that button.

The button at the back has to be pressed in, otherwise all the lights on the front panel go out.

I've found the answer - the rear light goes off if both the wi-fi radios are disabled (I'm not using the router's wi-fi as I have Devolo powerline adapters).

The Devolo's, are they the 1200AC ones?
Yes they are. I have one by my TV, for my NowTV box, one in the dining room, which covers my daughter's bedroom immediately above and one in my son's bedroom, where there has always been problems getting decent wi-fi for his streaming TV and online gaming.

A picture is worth a thousand words (apparently).

Ahhh... Thank You. Those are pretty good speeds. About 40% is a real world wired speed, but still. I wouldn't complain.

Actually, the speeds have gone up still further, which is good because I have one of the units wired to my Western Digital 4TB network storage.
