RT-AC68U Torrent & DLNA

Astraco

New Around Here
Hi to all!

I´m planning to buy the Asus RT-AC68U router and i have a pair of questions related to this equipment (sorry for by bad english by the way):

-Torrent: is the Asus capable of managing the download of four torrents at same time? For me is a basic feature, and i was wondering if the Asus could handle with this or i have to move to another solution. I`m planning to attached a USB 3 disk to the Asus.

-Media server: i would like to view the media i have downloaded via torrent with my smart tv (Samsung F7000) via DLNA. Does the asus have the enough power to do so?

-And finally, can i do both things at same time? Torrent + DLNA

Thanks in advance for the answers.

yes to all three questions. you may need to do some tweaking with the torrent download limits and some other things here and there but it is capable of doing what you want it to. Also, depending on your usb drive you may have some issues here and there that you will have to tweak as well.

don't expect plug it in and it will work. It may work that way but in all likelihood you will need to do some adjusting here and there for your particular set-up. This is basically in reference to your third question of doing them at the same time.

Thank you very much jayboyyyy.

I have bad experiences with a DLINK 655 that promise a lot with its usb port and when you try to do things, it´s imposible.

The tweaks you are referring, are complicated to implement? Do the compromise the normal functioning of the device (i.e. an ipad connected via wifi to the Asus).

Thanks a lot.

i mean complicated just depends on how much you want to do and how well you want to do it.

check out a post like this: http://forums.smallnetbuilder.com/showthread.php?t=13614

or do your own search for download master and you can read up on issues people have, solved problems, speeds, etc. Like always, search, read, rinse, repeat.

also just noticed your question was 4 torrents at the same time. I'm not sure about the answer to that. Sorry for misleading you earlier. I just read download torrents. I'm not sure of its capabilities to do four at a time. Even if it can im sure its crappy. Unless you can set limits on number of ip's you are connecting to.
