New Around Here
Dear all,

got a brand new router and wanted to add it directly to the internet. Unfortunatelly I had installed the telekom w721v Router/modem to get into the internet. Just wanted to drop it but could not connect via WAN port. Is there any possibility to get me connected without the telekom router?

Otherwise - is it possible to use the functionalities of the router VPN Server/dyndns etc with this configuration?

Thanks in advance

Try turning off the isp modem for at least 10 minutes and make sure the new router is connected before turning on the modem.

After the modem is fully booted up (about 2 minutes), turn on the router.

If you've already setup the router, go to the quick internet setup link on the router's main page to allow it to auto detect your internet connection settings.

thanks a lot. I will try that.

I have tried to set the Telekom speed port router/modem as usable as modem but it did not work :-( cannot connect

Ask your isp to enable bridge mode on your modem.

is there any possibility to connect the router directly to the internet to use all funtionalities like vpn server?

by now i configured it to ap mode but there are nearly any options to configure and firewall is switched off as well as no bandwidth info
thanks so much
