RT-AC86U QOS Settings gone with reboot

Hi,

This is a known issue in the asus stock firmware and has been fixed by asus. Merlin mentioned it in reply to another member. I assume it will be merged with merlins at somepoint. Check this post out: [Release 384/NG] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.4 is now available
Thanks for the link, I just finished catching up in that thread. He mentioned it taking 2 to 3 months for the next build to be released. Hopefully I can just not have to reboot much in the meantime. At least knowing it's just a minor known issue that has been fixed I can just make sure to re-apply my QOS settings each time I do reboot. Thanks again!

Hi,

By that i think merlin means that as in 2/3 months for next major release ie. from 384 to 385. But incremental updates are much quicker than that. 380.70 is going to be released approx 2/3 weeks based on merlins thread here: https://www.snbforums.com/threads/small-development-update.45596/ Not sure if that will have this specific fix.

In terms of release schedule:

384_4.2 (this weekend)
380.70 (in the next 2-3 weeks)
384.5 (no planned ETA, probably looking at something close to a 2-3 months development cycle, depending on how well things will go during the beta phase)

2-3 months is for the final 384.5 release. There will be the usual public beta cycle before that (and there are even early alpha builds available already, updated from time to time). I expect that beta cycle to be fairly long once again due to the large number of changes currently planned for this release.

I actually might have refreshed alpha builds up this weekend, have to sort out a serious issue first before I can push them out.

Excellent! Is there a particular way that I could have access to these alpha or beta builds to test?

Thanks! I'll check this out this afternoon. I looked at the changelog and didn't see anything mentioned about QOS settings on RT-AC86U. Does this alpha build include the fix that ASUS implemented?

It includes any fix Asus has made in 384_20624. I do not list fixes that are part of an Asus GPL release, only those that I have personally made to the code.
