RT-AC86U - Revert to Merlin 382.x from Asus 384?

The title says it all... Can I revert to Merlin's 382 branch from Asus' official 384 branch of firmware? I know some previous versions didn't allow you to go back, but it's been a while since I've heard anything like this for recent versions.

Getting a new AC86 today and thought about setting it up with 384 firmware initially but wanted to have the ability to go back to Merlin's firmware once the 382 branch gets out of beta.

Thanks!

Yes you should be able to, its also a good idea to factory restore after switching from Official > Merlin and vise versa.

Thanks Adamm! I plan to get the new router set up and install Skynet as well.
And yes, I'd definitely do a factory restore/reset/restart with no USB upon changeover.
Now if ASUS would just release the aiMesh firmware for the AC87, I could use my existing two routers as mesh access points. :)
