I just got myself a new RT-AC87R. Flashed Asuswrt-Merlin 380.62_1 firmware. Start tinkering and found that Traffic Monitor numbers/behavior is kinda out of order. I was googling/pulling my hair for couple days trying to figure it out...
I found that 2.4 GHz wireless traffic looks fine.
Ethernet traffic (and 5HGz WiFi) - does not look good.
Examples:
LAN Port1 <-> WAN
1. Downloading from internet will register twice as incoming and outgoing traffic.
2. Uploading to internet will register as it should (only outgoing traffic). It's fine.
3. It's the same behavior on 5GHz WiFi (downloading will be incoming and outgoing and uploading will be outgoing traffic only).
LAN Port2-4 <-> WAN
1. Does not register traffic at all (neither uploading or downloading).
LAN <-> WiFi looks like fine.
I think that LAN Port1 whimsical acting due to multi-cpu architecture of RT-AC87R. So, LAN port 1 and 5GHz WiFi are on the same bus and behave exactly the same . The rest of LAN ports to WAN did not register any traffic at all.
Question: is this Asuswrt bug? Can it be fixed in Merlin firmware? I would like to continue to use Merlin code.
