RT-AC87U - guest wifi has access to local network

Frosch1482

New Around Here
Hi,

i have a RT-AC87U working in Wireless mode (default) with Firmware 380.65
My neighbor asked me if she could use my Wlan for a little bit of internet surfing.

Now i set up a guest wifi (because i really don`t want her to see my network services as UPNP or any shares on my NAS), but I realized that against the description on the guest network page, the lan network is not protected.

When I`m connected to the guest wifi, i can use all network resources, I can even access the Router administration page.

Is this normal or is something wrong?

Thx

Hallo Frosch,

Did you disable the Access Intranet option in the setup of the guest network?

If you are connected to 5GHZ band that option will not work at all, you will be able to access Intranet anyway even when disabled, it's a known issue / bug on RT-AC87U FW that will be addressed soon on next FW versions.
