RT-AC87U WAN an Wlan issues

New Around Here
Hi all,

I have 2 issues with my RT-AC87U running current merlin build "380.64_2". (issues were present in earlier versions as well)

First issue is a WAN disconnect as soon i´am going with my mobilephone into one of my rooms in which the RT-AC87U is furthermost away. The router itself keeps the WLAN running but completely struggle to keep the WAN connected "DSL over PPPoe"

Second issue is as soon as a few more people are in the flat (arround 3-4) with smartphones. The WLAN (mostly ussed 2G) starts to struggle. As soon i reach a people limit it is not possible to listen audio over chromecast audio for example. It keeps buffering and playing randomly.

I hope somebody can help ... please let me know what kind of information you also need?

Regards

When was the last time you did a reset to factory or setup thing manually or using John's nvram save/restore tool?

The last factory reset is some versions ago. I think i did the last with versions below _60. I checked the changelog and as long drivers didn't changed i didn't do a factory reset. The John's nvram save/restore was never used.

Yeah, you'll probably need to do a factory reset as some old variables could be messing you up.

Thanks for your Tip with the factory reset. Did that today but unfortunately the issue is still there.

Did you setup manually again after?

Are you running any additional things on the router? Any one torrenting? Do you have a USB drive connected? What channel and bandwidth setting do you have configured for the 2.4GHZ? What make of smartphones? Could possibly power off the DSL modem and the router for 15 min and then reconnect things. I think there is a couple different setting options for the PPPoe but haven't used that. There are some other threads on the forum that might have an answer to the that particular issue.
