I managed to get my hands on a copy of this firmware for the AC87x platform and have uploaded it to my MediaFire account. I have installed it on my RT-AC87R and it seems to be stable. I have no changelog or any information on it at all so use is 100% at your own risk.

Here is the link.

thanks DaveMishSr for sharing with us the firmware.

I have tested this firmware and I could only say the bugs present in the official 2764 firmware is still present in this 3561.

I would also stress that wireless performance is very buggy in this 3561 because your mobile devices will show the wifi connection in good strength, but no internet traffic is granted. those using android phones with this router will experience intermittent "Wifi Enabled" prompt although your wifi is already connected. The display of this message marks the start of the bug, it can only be resolved when you turn off and on the wifi on the mobile device again.

Not to mention, initial set up process is still buggy. Initial set up process will prompt you to change the login password. However once you entered the UI, the router will still prompt you to change the password again.

The password I entered at initial page wasn't registered at all, as I am able to enter the UI via password=admin.

Will continue to monitor again..

issues

Not having any of those issues, seems very stable to me, also getting great AC throughput with newest surface pro 3 drivers. Haven't tried AP mode yet but will this weekend. The AP issues are my biggest beef with this router.
