RT-AC88U and the Merlin Firmware

TBC777

New Around Here
1) Does anyone know if the Stock or Merlin firmware supports the higher transmit power allowed on the lower 5ghz channels on the RT-AC88U router?

2) Also does the Merlin firmware support choosing the DFS channels?

3) Does the RT-AC88U router have any problems using the USB 3.0 port and causing interference with the 2.4ghz signal? I was reading some old posts where someone said the stock firmware has an option to reduce the interference but that the Merlin firmware didn't have that option.

Thanks for any reply. I have been very interested in know these things. I don't see a search option on these forums unless I am just not seeing it.

1) and 2) are the same as with the stock firmware, there are no changes in my firmware.

3) depends on your device itself. If your device has a poorly shielded cable or a poorly shielded enclosure, it can generate interference. It's not just the router's responsibility, everything else also requires adequate shielding.
