RT-AC88U_382.1_2 DDNS not working

Toro143

New Around Here
Hey guys,
Noob here at networking. I have a few questions regarding the above firmware and router.

Before the above firmware, I was on 380.ish and noip ddns was working as it should. I could access webgui from outside my network. After upgrading to 382.1_2, I can no longer access it from any machine outside my network, no matter which browser I use. I also upgraded to Win 10Pro at same time in case that matters. I'm pretty sure my settings are exactly the same on the router.

Things I did: flush dns, change dns servers on ip4 adapter, tried different ddns service (asus). I'm not sure what to try next.

Another question,, I checked for the latest update and see that it is a _380.69_2,,, isn't that a downgrade from 382.1_2 ?

Is win 10 blocking me somehow ?

saw this on another thread regarding ac88u

"Did you reset to factory defaults after installing @RMerlin firmware 380.69? If not I highly recommend it. The latest version is an alpha 2 for the 384 code branch. So latest is 384.3 alpha 2 but it's an alpha build and can display problems. The 382 code is too messed up to continue development. So either stay with what you have or jump into the alpha builds."

Is the consensus that 380 is better than 382 ?

380.69 is stable/legacy.
382.1 and 382.2 had a few (non-major for most) issues
384.3 is currently in beta, and looking pretty good as far as beta goes.

In the end, it's up to you. Personally, 384.3 beta is good enough to be running on my primary router.

I figured it out. It's probably a "DUH "moment for all you guys in the know, but apparently I didn't know or completely forgot this detail. Told ya I was a noob.

Anyway, as I thought, it was all set up correctly however when I tried to access from outside my network putting name+ddns.net isn't enough. I had to append port# also. I just don't remember doing that before at all.
