I have an RT-X86U running Merlin 3004.388.8_2 - I have DNS Privacy set to DoT pointing to Quad9 (on the 1G WAN page) in normal operation. When I fail over to the USB 4G dongle (backup WAN), nothing can be looked up in DNS until I manually turn off the DoT setting on the 1G WAN page.

I don't understand why this is happening, surely I should be able to connect to the DoT servers through either intenet connection.

The DoT settings only appear on the 1G WAN page - there is no equivalent setting for the USB WAN, so I assume the setting applies to both WAN interfaces.

Am I missing something here? Can anyone shed any light on why DNS lookups break when my WAN fails over to USB?
