RT-BE92U slow performance on 5GHz band

Hi!

I just got a RT-BE92U and oh boy, I'm getting very annoyed.

First it appears having all networks with the same name still is crappy and it's better to separate each band on a separate SSID. That managed to make 6GHz band devices have the expected performance for both wifi6e and wifi7 devices.

The problem is the 5GHz band where AX clients can't go over 300Mbps and that is only possible after disabling wifi7 on that band otherwise it's even slower. The wifi6E and wifi7 devices when connected to the 5GHz also show the same performance cap.
I honestly have no idea what is happening and that is screwing wifi6 and 5 devices. I see nothing relevant on the logs.

Any one else experiencing this?

FW 3.0.0.6.102_37526

It appears channel 36 worked although it's a bit strange since that channel is crowded with my neighbours... There must be a radio firmware bug?

If you are coming from RT-AX86U PRO or basically any ASUS WiFi 6 model with 3x3 or 4x4 on the 5GHz band, the RT-BE92U is going to provide an inferior performance even with WiFi 7 client. Even the RT-AX86U Pro delivers much better throughput on the 5GHz band than the RT-BE92U.

The 5GHz band on the RT-BE92U is only 2x2 and even the range is not great.

Hum... I've been eyeing the GT-BE98 but due to the price I've been holding back but if this RT-BE92U is really that crappy I might return this and just bite the bullet.

RT-BE92U is only 2x2

If working properly and the channels used are relatively clear 2-stream AX client can get >800Mbps throughput at 80MHz wide channel close to the router with good signal level -54dBm or better. The issue @muddymind is having is not in 2x2 radio configuration.
