RT-BE96U - Wireless client showing up as wired LAN connected device

I have an old notebook that I use with Mint and it shows up as a wired LAN device on my RT-BE96U. The client is connected to the 2.4G channel as wireless g client. The wireless card in the notebook is a PCMCIA from TRENDnet TEW-421PC. This was not the case with my old RT-AX88U, it was recognized correctly. Is there a way to reassign a client to make sure it does get included as a wireless client?

Welcome to the world of wonky network map! Issues like this have been in Asus firmwares for a long time. It may fix itself in time. Then again, maybe it won't. Nothing you can do...
