RT-N66U 5GHz not working

Ive just bought myself one of these and updated it to the latest firmware version 3.0.0.4.374_4561

I cant get it to work on 2.4ghz but 5g wont even show up on any of my computers or phones.

Any ideas?

Are you sure those computers and phones actually support the 5 GHz band? The majority of devices don't.
 
I'm using the same firmware on N66U and haven't had any problems on 2.4 ghz or 5 ghz. Connectivity, etc is all fine using Intel, Broadcom, atheros wireless adapters. (Windows and apple-iPad-Apple TV -iPhone devices).

Try using basic troubleshooting steps in link below. Since you have latest firmware, start with step 2.

I'll give it a go, something's definitely not right using a wired connection my old router is getting 33mb and the new router is getting 15mb
 
You can try unplugging your cable modem for 10 minutes.....or call your ISP and have them reset your connection with your new router's MAC address.

Seems to have worked getting good speeds and 5ghz is working now. Now I just need to get a new wifi card and external Ariel for my acer revo the signal & speed on it is useless.
