Greetings,
I just installed my new Rogers/hitron cable modem and I'm getting an average of 194 Mbps download (wired) to my computer, woohoo!!!
But and this is a big but...when I connect my computer to my ASUS RT-N66U via gigabit port, which in turn is connected to the new cable modem. I'm only getting 120 Mbps download, consistently.
My question is: What gives??? Am I missing something here or am I stroking out...or maybe the router can't handle the bandwidth?
My rt-r66u is running the latest firmware from Merlin and I have rebooted several times and disable QOS. I've had the router for about a year!
I have swapped cables around and replaced them with working CAT6 ones. Drivers have been updated as well as firmware.
MTU settings are at 1500 and I have disabled ipv6!
My PC has a Realtek ethernet controller(RTL8167) in case anyone is wondering
So far wireless speeds are adequate.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
X
