I've recently upgraded from 3.0.0.4_374.35_4-sdk5 to 3.0.0.4.374.38_2-em and found when i export the ovpn file and load it on to my iphone i get an error on the iphone saying

"OpenVPN error : PolarSSL: error parsing cert certificate : X509 - The Certificate format is invalid, e.g. different type expected."

With 3.0.0.4_374.35_4-sdk5 i could export the file load it up on to the iphone and it worked. Has anyone else had this issue and found a way around it?

Thanks in advanced

Had the same issue on the Rt66U, when I went from the 354.38 to 354.38-2, Merlin said to empty certificates on the VPN page turn off and on the VPN server, it would create the new certificates again, and then export

I've got the same problem, but clearing the info didn't fix it for me. Xavier can you tell me if it did it for you?

try looking in the /etc/openvpn directory and make sure everything gets cleared out from there. I had a different issue with the export in that it would not export and had an error messge in the webpage by the export button, but after manually clearing all that stuff out it seemed to work. Backup everything first though!

unfortunately i cant test this method right now as there profiles made by 3.0.0.4_374.35_4-sdk5 still in use.

When upgrading to the new firmware i had copied the certificates created from 3.0.0.4_374.35_4-sdk5 to 3.0.0.4.374.38_2-em. While the new OVPN file doesn't work on a new device. Devices which had the previous opvn file are still able to connect to the VPN server. Once i have access to all devices i try the method from post #2.

OK so i tried this method last night and found that my iDevice accepts the OVPN file. The only time it doesnt work is when im copying and pasting in my own keys made from 3.0.0.4_374.35_4-sdk5
