Hi guys,

I am on a FIOS-like system here in Canada (Telus Optik) where I need the moca (cable-company supplied) router/modem before the RT-N66U, but I want to use the full router mode and NOT the AP mode. I need some help!

I tried to set the IP to static IP, but the Asus software doesn't let me set the WAN IP = to my cable-company router IP, it gives me an error.

Can anyone help me with teh specifics to set this up?

If it's like FiOS then you can put the router before or after. I have FiOs and I've run my personal router in front of the FiOS router and also after without any issues in the past.

I do use Ethernet from my ONT though. But even when running behind my router, the FiOS router sent info to the STB when I had one. Although if you are on MoCA for the WAN connection then you would need the Cable company router first. Which for me is not something I would want to be forced to do. When I got FiOS, the only way I would sign up was if I had an Ethenet connection to the ONT. If I had been tied to a MoCA connection then if the router died I would be SOL waiting for a replacement. With an Ethernet connection you have the ability to use your own equipment.
