I have spent some hours reading the manual and doing on line searches, watching videos etc. but there are so many obvious questions that I simply cannot find answered to! can anyone help?

I read that the USB device should be formatted to ext2 but I can find no way to do that and my nas box managed to format it to Ext3, will that do?

I plugged it in to the router and the USB symbol has lit up green in the top right hand corner.

If I now go to USB application it offers Dlna media server I have switched that off as I don't want DLNA services but worryingly, in the box marked media server directory it says no USB disk detected. I have no idea why or what to do about it.

Just found out it is because the USB device is unmounted. Of course there is no obvious "mount" button. Never seen anything with a USB port before that didn't auto mount. I dread asking how I get around this because it being Linux it will probably be a shed load of typing.

I am used to having \\server\sharename as a means to get access to shares but can find no clues at all how to set these or what they are. Information just does not appear to be anywhere. Should the whole USB drive be shared and how do I create folders on the drive?

Any advise appreciated.

Bob.
