Has anyone successfully configured the VPN for remote access to their home network? It's impossible to search the term VPN here it's considered too short.

I'm considering getting this router but one of the main draws is the VPN capability and nobody seems to have gotten it working.

It works for me, although it's not 100% stable. Sometimes, the router reboots itself when I connect to it.

It also works for me didn't experience any reboots...

I'm not 100% sure because the problem is intermittent, but from what I experienced, the problem occurs more often if you put the VPN IP block inside the same network as the DHCP (i.e. if your LAN is 192.168.0.0/24, and you use 192.168.0.90-192.168.0.99 for VPN, for example). You can use an IP block in a different network (such as 10.0.0.0), but then that brings another problem: proxyarp doesn't seem to work properly in Asus's implementation. There are error messages being logged related to it.

Bottom line is, there's no ideal solution yet :( So, I'd say, VPN *mostly* works, but it's not 100% reliable. On one occasion where I really needed to access my network from work, I ended up creating an SSH tunnel so I could access my home PC.

No problems here either....I have some strange entries in my logs though but it works fine with Asus DDNS service.......

Do you mind going through the steps you used to get the Asus DDNS to work? I can't seem to get it up at running.

VPN via PPTP does work on .112. As a quick test, I got the dynamic WAN IP address my ISP provided and set it as a static WAN IP. I connected fine on my phone and tablet. My problem is with Asus DDNS.
