RT n66u & Xfinity IPV6 settings

Tony Y

New Around Here
Hello everyone,
I recently decided to setup my RT N66U onto my LAN bypassing the Arris TG867 Gateway in order to take advantage of the VPN features of the ASUS RT N66U.

My problem comes in with IPV6. I have attempted with my limited capacity, setting up the IPV6 and with no success. Can someone share the true correct configuration and settings required to support IPV6 through the RT N66U?

I can upload pics of current settings if required.

This is how my router is setup for xfinity IPV6. I'm guessing that the router may reboot after making the changes. Most likely will need to power cycle the gateway also. Restart computers to assign them IPV6 addresses.

Connection type - Native
DHCP-PD - Enable
Auto Configuration Setting - Stateless
Connect to DNS Server automatically - Enable
Enable Router Advertisement - Enable

Thanks for your interest. As far as I'm concerned, I am fairly certain everything is updated to the most recent versions and all factory OE software. I have considered customer WRT's but been hesitant as to which to use. I like the ability of my VPN for when I travel. Here are some pics demonstrating the versions and hopefully answering our questions.

Seems the firmware is out of date to me? Also doesn't answer if a reset was ever performed.

Try what was suggested above. Power down both the router and the modem for at least half an hour or more.

To get the latest firmware you need to visit this site http://www.asus.com/support/ and download the latest firmware. The firmware check from within the router GUI does not provide the latest firmware. AFTER updating the firmware go to the admin>restore tab and restore to factory default. Do not save and reload any settings. Set up the router from scratch.
