Hey guys, I'm currently living in the basement of my in-laws and the person who pays the cable/internet bill lives upstairs. At first, I had no wi-fi reception at all in the basement so I tried several options. Eventually I wound up buying an Asus RT-N66W which seemed to solve all my problems. Great internet speeds and signal.
The problem that I have been having is random drop-offs from the router. All wireless devices connected to the internet will get dropped and show "limited" connectivity including my desktop, laptop, iPad, and iPhone. A router restart is required to regain internet. However, the computer that is hard wired to the router will NOT drop, only wireless connections.
I am a complete noob when it comes to these things, so I was wondering if anyone had any ideas for why this happens? I will follow any and all steps that people suggest in order to get to the root of this problem.
By the way I recently flashed the firmware to the newest version, so that can't be the issue. ANY help would be greatly appreciated and I thank you in advance.
