I am going to install my new router soon and before I get myself in trouble, I thought I would ask in advance.

Question 1. I have searched the manual, but I did not find anything about static lease assignments WRT whether static leases should be assigned within a defined DHCP range (I am told that Linksys routers require that) or whether static leases should be assigned outside of the DHCP range, or whether it doesn't matter.

Question 2. In setting up a DHCP range, is it necessary to exclude the router's address?

Thanks
Ken K

1: doesn't natter, both works.
2: Yes, you don't want the DHCP server to try to allocate the same IP as already assigned to the router.
