Samba share files

I've been trying to change the settings of Network Place Share/Cloud Disk. When I explore the share files I've notice samba created 5 different mounted folders from one HDD. How can I enable samba to read/mount ONE HDD name? I also notice when I want to move files from one mounted folder to another (btw same HDD) It could take hours like if i was transferring the file to a different computer. Here is a SS of my problem.

Enable guest login under Network Place Share/Cloud Disk.
Then it will show the root of the drive.

You are the boss.. thank you!

In fact. transferring the file from one computer to another is exactly what you are doing, not once but twice...

Your PC doesn't act as a terminal. It is processing the whole "transaction", pulling the data from folder 1 and pushing it back to folder 2

To avoid this, you would need to enable ssh on the device and login on it either with Putty (or Xshell) and use some linux command, either WinSCP.

Or enable guest login. Then moving (not copying) files within the same share will avoid the router>PC>router copy.

Colin, for my own information, how would you do it more exactly ?

Sorry for not being clear.

As faria has said, go to USB Application > Network Place(Samba) Share / Cloud Disk and set "Allow guest login" to "On".

This has the effect of merging all the separate shared folders into one. Because the folders are now contained within one "share" SAMBA is intelligent enough to know that to move a file within the share it just has to update the directory and not copy the whole file from the router to the PC and back to the router.

Of course the downside of enabling "guest login" is that you can't control who has access to the different folders.
