What is the Filesystem of the Volume in Seagate ?

If it is not ext3, can I format it as ext3 ?

I want to use it with Linux as follows:

PCs ---------------------> Server1 -----| Through NFS
|---------------------------> Server2 -----|---------------------------------- NAS
|---------------------------> Server3 -----|

All are Linux, will the NAS preserve the permissions and ownership of files ?

Thanks in advance.

Seagate NFS problem

I had a chat with one of their representative, and they were very rude.
each time they close the session before answering all my questions.

Conclusion:
1- File system is proprietary and similar to linux EXT3
2- The NFS is with all_squash option so you can not change ownership of the files in your share.

As I saw through the internet, seagate support is very bad.
